Goodbye Warners!

Last week our good friends, the Warners moved to Texas. Todd got a better position with his company rather suddenly a few months ago and they decided, regardless of how difficult the move would be, to take it. We got to be good friends with the Warners last year through a babysitting job (they have 5 kids) and spent a lot of good times with them. I'm only sorry I don't have more pictures of those memories. They also helped us so many times I can't list them all. They were some of the best people we know. We will miss you Warners! I have to say, 'Don't mess with Texas' fits the Warner family perfectly :)

Marikay and Sarah

Katalyn and Briana with Sarah...they loved her so much!

Moving day.. :(

Max! Their sweet dog. We dog-sat him for a couple nights before they left because they were in a hotel. I loved this dog! He missed his family though. He followed me around all day so he wouldn't be lonely.

The men..Kurtis has to find someone else to hunt, fish, talk about guns and Republican things with..

Summer-lovin'

The other day I started to get real sad because it got a little cool.. like 50s. It's still summer! It's not supposed to be cold yet! So when I don't really want to go for a walk, I have to remind myself that it's not going to be beautiful for much longer. I've got to embrace this...

so what when it starts looking like this...
I will remember the warm, sunny walks outside.

Olmsted County Fair

A few weeks ago the county fair was happening right around the corner from us. We walked there almost every night to see all the excitement. I was addicted to the mini-donughts and Kurtis to funnel cakes so it's a good thing the fair was only a week long. 4-H is big around here because there are so many farms so we got to see all kinds of animals (and smell them too!). Sarah loved it too, when she was awake. She always fell asleep when we walked through the pens..I think the animal noises lulled her asleep. My favorite part were the horses. Not only were they beautiful but they were gigantic! This is my foot with a hoof-print. Whoa!

Daddy's girl

Daddy loves his little girl! We went for a walk the other day around our favorite place, the lake we used to live by. I never posted this one from when Kurt Sr. was here...3 generations!
"Daddy's milk" as Kurtis calls it. Too bad she doesn't really like it...can you tell?

At one of the parades we went to this summer

Baby swammie!

I'm so grateful to have a husband who loves his little girl. He's so sweet with her, even when he does things I don't approve of with her. But those crazy things are what Daddy's are for I guess!

Shifting

Hello, my name is Julie and I'm a Shifter. I don't really find a permanant place for things in my house, I shift them to temporary places. I just move things around and pretent to put them away while really quickly shifting them so their out of the way and out of my eyesight for a while. Unfortunately, I sometimes shift things and forget where I've shifted them. This becomes a problem when bills, addresses, and other important things get lost. My husband calls his parent's house the 'black hole' because when things get shifted, they never return. I hope my house isn't turning into another black hole! On the flip side, I've spent the whole day shifting things around my house and I think it looks less like this...

and more like this...

Now, if only the leather chairs and fabulous bookshelf came with the shifting... At least I feel like I've organized a little bit, right?

Baby's 'R' Us!

This week we had a reunion of our childbirth class. We had talked about a get-together once all the babies were born and I graciously (or in a moment of insanity) offered our house. All but 2 couples were able to come. It was great to see everyone again and hear their stories of labor, delivery and post-pardon..I'm not sure how to spell that..anyway.. the nurse who taught the class came too! It was so fun to see and compare our experiences and these beautiful babies. I felt like Sarah (who was one of the older babies) was enormous and bald compared to these teeny babies with enough hair to rival my own! The babies were really good the whole night too. They sure were adorable and it made me excited to be a parent all over again!

A blessing from above

Sarah Elaine Tucker was blessed in church last Sunday by her father, his father and some good family friends. It was a sweet and sacred moment to hear Kurtis bless her with Priesthood authority. I'm so grateful to have the gospel and know that families are forever. It was also special to have Kurtis' father here to take part in the blessing. He had a work convention in Minneapolis and came a few days early to spend time with us and see the baby. Sarah is indeed our blessing from above and we want the best for her. She's such a sweet angel..(especially since for the past week she's been sleeping 6-8 hours a night!!) She got to wear the blessing dress made by my grandmother, which I also wore and crotched booties made by my great-grandmother. They stayed on for a whole 5 minutes but were so precious!
