Sarah Elaine Tucker - 6/11 @ 7:11

Julie and I went into the hospital at about 8:00 PM on Wednesday 6/10/09. Previous to this, we were watching the show "Wipeout", which happens to be the most hilarious show ever, and Julie's contractions were getting stronger and stronger. So we got our things together, hopped in the car, and drove over to Olmstead Medical Center.

Julie was so excited to meet Sarah that she couldn't help smiling despite the pain that accompanies early labor. I guess most girls give grave greetings at the hospital, because the nurses commented that usually the distressed damsels don’t display Julie’s delighted demeanor. Since Sarah is our first child, we didn't know what what to expect, and as it turned out we were in for a long night. But as the sun began to rise the next day the nurses delivered a priceless gift to our new family - Sarah Elaine Tucker.

Sarah Elaine Tucker: born on Thursday, 6/11/09 at 7:11 AM weighing 7 lbs. 9 oz.

Sarah cried for about half an hour while the nurses were doing their measurements and proceedures, but she soon calmed down after the commotion subsided. After an eventful and emotional night, everyone was tired and so we all got some well-needed rest.

Momma Tucker and Amelia also came Thursday morning and got to meet Sarah. Here are some pictures from Thursday and Friday.

D-Day

Oooooooh what do you do on your due date, when the baby hasn't come? Do you...

-clean the house?
-change the sheets?
-do laundry?
-go for a walk in the rain and chase some ducks? (Hilarious! See the movie)
-have a game night with friends? (They tried valiantly to make me laugh hard enough to induce labor..nice try guys!)
-start home improvement projects? (Kurtis' doing)
-make cookies?

Is that what you do? So do I! All in all, the due date thing is so anti-climatic! This D-Day was not infamous for us. Why even tell you a due date anyway? All you do is get your hopes up for nothing. Maybe this is another test at my patience. But aren't I going to learn that soon enough with a child? It's a conspiracy.
Some goslings we saw along the lake

The most updated pregnancy pose.. on the due date appropriately
The duck hunt. Notice the one straggler at the end. He was soo afraid for his life! Poor thing! It made for some good entertainment though.

OUCH

So Kurtis went to one of the scouts' graduation party last night without me. He came home and immediately went to wash off his feet, claiming they had 'gotten a little dirty.' Well I found him in the bathroom applying a generous amount of triple-antibiotic ointment and trying to figure out a way to bandage these looooooong wounds. We've got the whole story on our new video camera, but I haven't figured out how to upload the movies. But here's a picture and I'll leave you with one word, trampoline. You come up with the story.

Celebration II

I am so lucky to have wonderful friends who threw me another baby shower. This time it was mostly girls from church. We had fabulous food, played games (see below for the bottle race, hilarious) and had a great time catching up, especially with ladies from our old ward (since it split). Now, this is TOTALLY an unflattering picture of me but I had to honor my wonderful friends who put it all together. Thanks Marikay and Stacy!

The baby's suite

I watched Father of the Bride II the other day and thought I had made my own 'baby's suite.' I've finally got it in order (for the most part) and ready for the baby's arrival. Hopefully she'll come soon! I'm so excited to use all these things! So these are the during and after shots. I couldn't find a before shot, but it was a dingy blue/gray color before. I definately got my nesting instinct on in this room! But it was just so dreary before.. I had to do something. And forgive the desk, it's also our office. :) Now the only thing is to get our room to look as good as this room!
The primer was pink.. very pink. I was worried. And then it was red, verrrry red, but I love it!

Kurtis and I both love this painting and it totally matches the room for our little princess..

We found the chair on Craigslist.. got the crib from good friends.. and the dresser from my assistant principal. Yay for awsome deals! The dolls are from my childhood, a few crocheted by my great-grandmother.
