Dear world,

it's about time I get to say something! I'm already 4 months old and have experienced so much! Like last week Mommy dressed me up in this big furry outfit with a hat (I didn't like) and took me outside in the cold. I don't know what she was thinking. But today it is pretty outside. We got to see the colors on the trees.

I've decided I don't like to lay down anymore so I'm trying to sit up. No one told me it was going to so hard! I don't like to roll over anymore, but I like to bounce on Mommy and Daddy's lap. That's fun. Mommy hasn't been real nice to me lately either. I cry and cry and she doesn't always pick me up right away! Maybe I'm crying wrong...She is also feeding me this white stuff from a weird plastic stick. I'm not sure if I like it yet but I'm giving it a fair chance. Daddy is so funny and makes me laugh a lot. He sings silly songs and plays games with me. Mommy does too, but Daddy is funnier. And there's also all these weird people who aren't my parents who try to make me laugh. I don't like them very much either. I just like being held by my Mommy or Daddy.

Oh here's a funny story. Mommy puts me in these clothes that are a little too big. Since I'm an active girl I kick, kick, kick and get my toes stuck in the holes. Like this.
I had to go to the doctor last week and boy was it NOT fun. At first I thought it would be because the doctor was real nice and playful with me. But then they poked me a bunch of times with something really sharp. They told me I was a healthy girl though and said I weighed 15 pounds. Of course I do, I thought. I LOVE to eat, all the time. :) Good thing Mommy has enough milk.
I'd love to talk to all of you but Mommy says it's time for a nap. We'll see about that. ;)

Love,
Sarah

The inevitable...

has come. It snowed last week. Just a teeny bit..but snow nonetheless. AHH!! Not yet! I swear it's too soon. But we did take take advantage of Sarah's first snow and got a picture. She's our little Russian baby!

Fall

OK, so I haven't posted in a while. Maybe I've been trying really hard to wish the 'nice' fall weather to come back. After months of gorgeous 70 degree weather, BAM! A cold front rushed in bringing rain, wind and 40-50 degree coldness! And, it's blown lots of leaves off the trees. Humph!
Not much has happened lately.. I went back to Gig Harbor last month and had a girls weekend with my sister, sisters-in-law and mom.. I'm wating to get some pictures from everyone else since I didn't have my camera. Kurtis had it because he got lucky and was invited on a manly canoe trip for the same weekend! He'll have to post about that with his pictures. It was great to get away and see everyone. And sooooooo fun to be spoiled and let Grammy and doting Aunts take care of Sarah for a while.

I do love the fall. My house is decorated with dollar-store finds. I especially love Halloween. I've been following this blog 'The Shabby Nest,' (see link on the side) for some great decorating ideas. I found a great way to finally display some of my 'friends' from my college bug collection. Yay! Also, things in jars. I've got skeleton hands, spiders, and an eye-ball in jars on display. Hilarious and CHEAP! I can't wait to get out my fall clothes again and I've already started drinking my favorite Good-Earth tea. Yum..

Sarah will be 4 months this week. I can't believe how fast it's going! She's rolled over a few times but has decided to table that trick at the moment. Kurtis can get her to laugh so good, which is the cutest thing ever. I'd post a movie but the blog doesn't like our camera's format. Go figure. She smiles a ton and is grabbing and chewing on things like a little puppy. Her favorite though is holding onto a blanket and peeking out of it with her little eyes, as seen above. She's just adorable. I've yet to get a good picture of her smiling...I'm working on it!

Goodbye Warners!

Last week our good friends, the Warners moved to Texas. Todd got a better position with his company rather suddenly a few months ago and they decided, regardless of how difficult the move would be, to take it. We got to be good friends with the Warners last year through a babysitting job (they have 5 kids) and spent a lot of good times with them. I'm only sorry I don't have more pictures of those memories. They also helped us so many times I can't list them all. They were some of the best people we know. We will miss you Warners! I have to say, 'Don't mess with Texas' fits the Warner family perfectly :)

Marikay and Sarah

Katalyn and Briana with Sarah...they loved her so much!

Moving day.. :(

Max! Their sweet dog. We dog-sat him for a couple nights before they left because they were in a hotel. I loved this dog! He missed his family though. He followed me around all day so he wouldn't be lonely.

The men..Kurtis has to find someone else to hunt, fish, talk about guns and Republican things with..

Summer-lovin'

The other day I started to get real sad because it got a little cool.. like 50s. It's still summer! It's not supposed to be cold yet! So when I don't really want to go for a walk, I have to remind myself that it's not going to be beautiful for much longer. I've got to embrace this...

so what when it starts looking like this...
I will remember the warm, sunny walks outside.
