A day in the life

Things are good for us. I'm attempting to find some sort of order in our lives and make a schedule. Of course it changes daily and we just live day to day. But life is good. Now if only spring can come and we can stop passing around sicknesses.. life would be so wonderful! I'm forcing the spring with my decorating... even though it is currently snowing outside. We got this toy out and I'm not sure who likes it more...
My big helper. Too bad she can't actually carry the basket. She tries so hard!
"NO, I want to wear my sweatshirt like this." And she did for a while.
Isn't he a doll? He's nearly 3 months now (!!) and at two months he weighed almost 13 pounds. He's still little to me!

Valentine's party

We had a little valentine party at playgroup with all the kiddos. We decorated bags and handed out our valentines. I love that Sarah is getting old enough to understand a little more and enjoy things. Of course, she helped herself to the candy right away. That's my girl!
Oh, don't mind my drunken eyes. I still wanted to document the day

Love hurts

Here I was, just minding my own business
Mommy tried to protect me
but she was no match for the love monster..and, WHAM! (or scratch, as it was)
I have an older sister, that's what happened. I'm loved that much. 02

Once there was a snowman

You can't make snowmen or snowballs easily here in Minnesota. Why? Because it is so cold that the snow is too dry and won't stick together. It's quite the downer to have so much snow and not really be able to play in it. BUT a few weeks ago it was a glorious 40 degrees for a WEEK, allowing for lots of meltage and perfect snowman building snow. Kurtis jumped at the chance and we bundled everyone up for a lesson in snowman building.
Sarah was the overseer
and voila! "I want to make it big!" explained Kurtis. So it was over 7 feet. And I didn't take a picture of him rolling the torso up a plank because it was so heavy. We took video though..quite amusing. Too bad it stayed warm and melted quickly. It lost its head the first day and torso soon after. Now it looks like an Easter Island statue.

we're all smiles around here

At least we try to be. We try not to talk about the other 50% of the time.. We've all got cabin fever around here and it's only February. But, it is exciting to say that it is February and we've only got a couple months of winter left! I had a dream the other day that it was warm and green... that'll keep me smiling. I'm glad to say we missed the huge bunch of storms that hit the rest of the country but sorry to the rest of my family who are suffering through them. We're just dealing with frigid temps and getting sick of staying inside or rushing around doing quick errands just to get back inside! So, we've got to keep ourselves busy. Our latest favorite thing.. painting.
With pudding. Yum.

What a great idea mom! I'm a natural. See? I can paint my face really well.
And him! Look at him! Smiling away. I don't know why it turned the picture but I couldn't turn it back. A sideways smile will still melt your heart. Have I mentioned he's HUGE! He's probably already 12 pounds at not even 8 weeks. At 1 month he weighed as much as Sarah did at 2 months (10lb 6oz). The kid eats ALL THE TIME. He's so cute. I've decided he looks like Dobby, from Harry Potter. Not in this picture though, here he just looks like an adorable little marshmellow man. He looks a lot like Kurtis too. A lot. Does he sleep any better? Not really.. but we've been able to get in naps during the day when Sarah takes a good nap. For that I'm very grateful. So you keep smiling too. Just look at Scott again. Doesn't that just make you smile?
